Jack Reacher (Tom Cruise) is a former Military Police Corps officer who lives a nomadic life, drifting from place to place. In this sequel, Reacher returns to his old military unit in Washington, D.C., to meet with the new commanding officer, Major Susan Turner (Cobie Smulders), whom he has been corresponding with. Major Turner’s Trouble: Upon arrival, Reacher discovers that Turner has been accused of espionage and is being held in custody.

The charges against her are serious, and Reacher suspects that she might be innocent and that something more sinister is at play. Framing and Pursuit: As Reacher investigates, he learns that Turner is being framed and that there’s a larger conspiracy involving military contractors.

Reacher’s investigation leads him to uncover a plot involving corruption and covert operations. Meanwhile, Reacher is also pursued by military and federal agents who are trying to capture him due to his interference.

Family Connection: During his investigation, Reacher discovers that he has a teenage daughter, Samantha (Danika Yarosh), who is the result of a brief relationship he had in the past. As he searches for the truth about the conspiracy, Reacher also works to protect Samantha, who becomes a target due to her connection to him. Climactic Showdown: Reacher and Turner team up to expose the conspiracy and clear their names. The film builds up to a climactic showdown where Reacher confronts the corrupt officials and military personnel behind the conspiracy.
