Flags of our fathers (2006) Ryan Phillippe, Barry Pepper, Jesse Bradford

“Flags of Our Fathers” is a 2006 war film directed by Clint Eastwood, based on the 2000 book of the same name by James Bradley and Ron Powers. The movie depicts the Battle of Iwo Jima, one of the bloodiest battles in the Pacific Theater of World War II, and the story behind the iconic photograph of six U.S. Marines raising the American flag on Mount Suribachi.
The film interweaves three timelines: the battle itself, the aftermath and impact on the soldiers involved, and the present-day investigation into the lives of the flag raisers.
