In The Equalizer 4 (2024), Robert McCall (Denzel Washington) returns to protect vulnerable people from dark forces, but this time the threats come not only from the American underworld but also from across Europe. After trying to live a peaceful life in a small Italian town, Robert discovers that the town is controlled by a notorious international crime syndicate that threatens the safety of its residents.
When an old friend of Robert’s is mysteriously murdered, he has no choice but to turn to his skills to find the culprit. The search leads him to a vast conspiracy involving arms trafficking and the collusion of transnational criminal organizations. With the help of an undercover agent played by a young agent (played by Zendaya), Robert must overcome countless dangers, fight against ruthless mafia bosses to rescue the captured victims.
The action scenes are elaborately staged, along with non-stop tension and suspense, The Equalizer 4 promises to bring the audience moments of satisfaction. This time, Robert not only has to face the enemy outside but also has to fight with the wounds of his own past. The film focuses on a former U.S. Marine turned DIA intelligence officer who reluctantly returns to action to protect a teenage prostitute from members of the Russian mafia. Principal photography began in June 2013 in Massachusetts.
